About Complinguistics

Welcome to the Computational Linguistics listserve!
This space will be used to support our Computational Linguistics Seminar/Readings/Research Group during the Spring 2019 Semester.
PLEASE ENCOURAGE ANYONE THAT WANTS TO FOLLOW ALONG WITH US THROUGH ASSIGNMENTS, EXPLORATION OF COMP LING SOFTWARE TOOLS, AND RESEARCH PROJECTS TO SIGN UP TO THIS LISTSERVE. Besides our regular meetings, this space will be our main medium for communication during the semester. Nidia is the primary person responsible for maintaining these pages.
The Instructor of record is Professor George Luger. His e-mail is: luger@cs.unm.edu
Our scheduled meeting time is 3 pm every Thursday. Since this is not a traditional “class” do not expect to meet every week. The next meeting will be January 31 in Prof. Luger’s office on the 2nd floor of FEC.
The primary textbook for this seminar will be Jurafsky and Martin’s Speech and Language Processing, 2nd ed. This was published by Prentice Hall Pearson in 2008. The 3rd edition of this book is on the Jurafsky and Martin website and all are encouraged to consult it regularly. In fact, there is a very large overlap with the 2nd edition and pdf versions of all their draft chapters are available for anyone that wants to print out.
